Just in case you were living in a cave somewhere, and if you haven’t heard the hottest news in the Tech World, Apple has recently acquired Beats Electronics LLC. Beats Electronics is the maker of those large headphones that almost every punk on planet earth wears while jamming to Miley Cyrus on a 24 hour loop. I personally prefer BOSE Headphones, but hey, who gives a F**K about what I think. Anyways, getting back to the topic at hand: What Apple’s Recent Acquisition of Beats Electronics Means for iPhone 6.
Despite my personal distaste for Beats by Dr. Dre, I gotta admit, I like this move by Apple. I believe this is more of a big picture strategy by Apple, and I believe that they’re going to make a massive push in the Live Streaming Music Market. At the moment, Spotify is the biggest player, but it might soon change if Apple decides to expand iTunes to a subscription based live streaming service. Although I believe Beats is nowhere near what Apple paid for it - $3 Billion to be more specific – Beats does have all the necessary apparatus and tools in place that Apple will need in order to compete with other subscription based music streaming services. Also, Beats has an excellent patented sound technology that Apple can use to improve the Sound (Speakers) of the iPhone 6.
Beats also has an established brand and name recognition, with endorsements from some of the most popular celebrities and pop/hip-hop artists. Although at first, all the things might seem unrelated, pretty soon they’ll start coming together like pieces of a puzzle, to create a more complete picture. It’s called the Chaos Theory; and Apple has mastered it to perfection.
So to all the fellow Apple loyalists out there who don’t like this move by Apple (acquiring Beats Electronics), I recommend exercising patience. Good things always come to those who wait.
